FRILLY ROUND BABY BLANKET

A FRIEND OF MINE ASKED ME IF I WOULD MAKE A BABY BLANKET FOR HER TO GIVE AS A GIFT. SHE WANTED FRILLY, PURPLE AND MAYBE FLOWERS. TWO OUT OF THREE'S NOT BAD. I USED BOWS INSTEAD. IT MEASURES 48 INCHES ACROSS. I USED
3 1/2 SKEINS OF BERNAT SOFTEE BABY LILAC YARN.
I COULDN'T FIND A PATTERN FOR WHAT I SAW IN MY HEAD SO I JUST STARTED CROCHETING. I DID HAVE TO REDO IT ONCE AT THE START BECAUSE I WASN'T HAPPY WITH IT. BUT AFTER THAT IT JUST FLOWED OF MY HOOKS. I CROCHETED FOR THREE DAYS , I JUST HAD TO GET IT FINISHED. NOW FOR THE HARD PART, TRY TO WRITE THE PATTERN OUT, YOU KNOW I DIDN'T WRITE IT DOWN AS I WENT. THIS MAY BE A ONE OF A KIND. I'M NOT SURE I CAN GIVE IT AWAY.

THANK YOU FOR THINKING ABOUT HANNAH AND RODNEY. HANNAH MAY GET TO GO HOME IN A DAY OR TWO IF SHE KEEPS DOING AS GOOD AS SHE IS. WE'RE STILL WAITING TO HEAR ABOUT RODNEY'S TEST RESULTS.

  6. Kathy, that is so pretty! I love the way you made it up as you went. I do the same thing when I make up a pattern, I don't write it down and then I'm sorry. Hope you can recreate this one because it is a winner! Twyla

  7. TWYLA THANK YOU FOR THE NICE COMMENTS. I'VE TRYED TO WRITE IT DOWN AS I GO BUT IT JUST MAKES ME LOSE MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT ON CREATING THE ITEM I'M WORKING ON. I'VE GOT IT WROTE DOWN, NOW TO FIND THE TIME TO SEE IF IT'S RIGHT.

  8. Beautiful! I normally don't comment- I'm a lurker addict. But that blanket is amazing! And without a pattern! If I don't have a pattern, well- it's just not pretty. I hope you can remember what you did so you can do it again. It really is beautiful.
