I BOUGHT A CARDBOARD BOX AT WAL-MART IN THE CRAFT DEPARTMENT, MOD PODGE, PAINT AND BABY WRAPPING PAPER. CUT PAPER TO FIT BOX. PAINT THE BOX. I ONLY PAINTED AROUND THE EDGES OF THE BOX THAT WOULD SHOW IF THE PAPER DIDN'T COVER IT ALL. THAT SAVES PAINT AND TIME. WHEN PAINT IS DRY PAINT MOD PODGE OVER PAINT THEN SLOWLY PUT PAPER ON IT A LITTLE AT A TIME. I DON'T PRESS DOWN HARD UNTIL I SEE IF ITS GOING STRAIGHT. AND I LET IT DRY JUST A FEW SECONDS SO IT WON'T BE SO WET BEFORE I TRY TO PUT THE PAPER ON. THE PAPER SEEMS TO DO BETTER. I ALSO PUT THE MODGE PODGE ON ONE SIDE AT A TIME. WHEN YOU PUT THE PAPER EVERYWHERE YOU WANT IT PAINT THE WHOLE BOX WITH MOD PODGE. PAINTED AREAS AS WELL. THIS SEALS EVERYTHING AND MAKES IT SHINE. LEAVE LID OFF FOR A FEW DAYS. IT WILL NEED TO DRY REALLY GOOD FIRST.
YOU CAN JUST PAINT THE BOXES OR DECORATE THEM WITH SCRAP BOOKING ITEMS. THE SKIES THE LIMIT ON WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THEM. I KNOW THAT HOSPITALS LOVE TO GET THEM. HAVE FUN.
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThe boxes look great! You should be proud, it sure doesn't look like your first attempt!
