HATS FOR ST. JUDE

I USED TWO DIFFERENT PATTERNS AND ADDED A LITTLE BIT OF ME TO THEM. HERE AND HERE ARE THE TWO PATTERNS I USED.
HERE IS HOW I DID IT.

MATERIALS:
SIMPLY SOFT YARN
H HOOK

ROW 1: CH 3 (THIS COUNTS AS FIRST DC )
WORK 11 DC IN LAST CH FROM HOOK. (12) ( TO CHANGE SIZE OF HAT I DO 13 FOR TEEN AND 14 ADULT OR OLDER TEEN)

ROW 2: CH 2 DC IN SAME STITCH. WORK 2 DC IN EACH ST AROUND AND JOIN WITH A SL ST TO TOP OF BEGINNING CH 3.

ROW 3: CH 2 2 DC IN NEXT ST. *DC IN NEXT ST. 2 DC IN NEXT ST* AROUND.JOIN WITH A SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 4: CH 2 2 DC IN NEXT 2 ST'S. * DC IN NEXT ST. 2 DC IN NEXT 2 ST'S * AROUND JOIN WITH A SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 5: (ON THIS ROW IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THE HAT SMALLER DON'T WORK IT.) OTHERWISE DO THIS.
CH 2 DC IN NEXT 6 ST'S. 2 DC IN NEXT ST. * DC IN NEXT 7 ST'S 2 DC IN NEXT ST. * AROUND JOIN WITH SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 6-15: CH2 DC IN EACH ST AROUND. JOIN WITH SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 16: CH2 DC IN EACH FPO AROUND. JOIN WITH SL ST TO TOP OF CH2.

ROW 17: TURN (THIS ROW ONLY.) CH 2 HDC IN EACH ST AROUND. JOIN WITH A SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 18: CH 2 HDC IN EACH ST AROUND. JOIN WITH AL ST TO TOP OF CH 2.

ROW 19: ( IF FOR A BOY WORK ROW 18 AGAIN)
FOR A GIRL CH2 WORK 6 DC IN SAME ST. (7) * SKIP 3 DC 7DC IN NEXT ST.* AROUND JOIN WITH SL ST TO TOP OF CH 2. ( DON'T WORRY IF THE ST. DON'T WORK OUT RIGHT AT THE END. SOMETIMES I MESS UP. I JUST DIVIDE IT UP AS BEST AS I CAN AND MAKE SHELL.)

  1. Thank you for your posting the pattern for the hats for this project, I just printed it and plan to do some hats for charity too and these look great, thanks for sharing it.

On a different topic, I have posted the contest entries and it is now officially voting time, no need to have had an entry to qualify to vote, so see if you can get some of your readers interested in voting too, thanks!

  4. The burial wraps out of washcloths is a GREAT idea!
I belong to Project Angel Kisses
[Yahoo group} and will be making lots of these. One of the comments I read about the wraps is that the Moms want their baby to look 'warm'...only a mom would understand that....and these wraps of yours look 'warm'.
thanks...and I love the frilly burial gown, too. Love in Christ,
    Linda in KY
