HARLIE CAME UP WITH THE NAME. SHE HAS A HULA HOOP AT HOME THAT SHE LIKES TO PLAY WITH. SO WHEN I GAVE HER THE SKIRT SHE ACTED LIKE SHE HAD HER HULA HOOP. I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO THROW HER HIP OUT OF PLACE.
HERE IS WHERE I FOUND THE PATTERN FOR A SCHOOL SPRIT SKIRT. I WAS GOING TO MAKE IT BY THIS PATTERN BUT HARLIE WAS IN A HURRY. SO I DID IT IN DC INSTEAD. I JUST MADE IT AS LONG AS I WANTED IT. THEN I PUT 8 OR 9 STRINGS IN EACH DC SPACE AROUND. I ALSO CHANGED THE TIE.ONE OF THE STRINGS CAME OUT AND I WAS GOING TO THROW IT AWAY. SHE ASKED ME IF SHE COULD HAVE IT. I GAVE IT TO HER AND SHE STARTED PLAYING WITH IT. I JUST LOVE HER.
Both the skirt and Harlie are adorable!
ReplyDeleteDon't you jsut love how kids can play with something so simple as a string and be happy? I knotted a bunch of strands together for my neice and called it a snake and she played with her "snake" for days.
THANKS KIMBERLY. IT MAKES YOU WANT TO DO THINGS FOR KIDS LIKE THEM. THEY GET SO MUCH JOY OUT OF SIMPLE THHINGS.
ReplyDeleteThis is just adorable! And what a cute child! Thanks for this great idea.
