DR. VISIT

WE WENT TO SEE THE SURGEON TODAY. WE GO BACK THE 4TH TO FIND OUT WHEN TIM HAS SURGERY, AROUND THE MIDDLE OF JAN. THE TWO DR.'S HAVE TO GET TOGETHER AND FIND OUT WHEN BOTH ARE FREE AT THE SAME TIME. IT WILL TAKE SIX HOURS AND TWO SURGEONS TO MAKE TIM AS GOOD AS NEW AGAIN.
THE ANEURYSM IS AT THE STUMP OF THE AORTA ( NEAR THE VALVE). THEY WILL USE AN ARTIFICIAL VALVE WITH A SECTION OF THE AORTA ARTERY ALREADY ATTACHED. THEN REDO ONE BY-PASS THAT IS BLOCKED. I THINK HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT ANOTHER ARTERY, JUST NOT SURE. I THOUGHT IT WAS THREE THINGS BUT TIM AND I WERE TALKING ON THE WAY HOME AND WE THINK HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT FOUR THINGS. WE WILL FIND OUT ON THE 4TH.
HE TALKED US THROUGH IT SO WE COULD UNDERSTAND. HE EVEN HAD A HEART THAT HE OPENED UP TO SHOW US WHERE INSIDE THE HEART HE WOULD BE WORKING ON. ASKED US THREE OR FOUR TIMES IF WE HAD ANY QUESTIONS, WE DIDN'T, WE KNEW WHAT TO EXPECT. BUT NOW I'LL ASK HIM ONE MORE TIME JUST WHAT HE'S GOING TO DO. I THINK I WAS USING ALL MY ENERGY BEING STRONG AND MISSED SOMETHING. HE SAID WE COULD CALL BUT I THINK IT CAN WAIT. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS NEEDED NO MATTER WHAT.
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING THIS YEAR I'M JUST NOT IN THE MOOD. I'M JUST THANKFUL I HAVE GOD IN MY LIFE , TIM AND FOR OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
I'M SORRY I DON'T POST A LOT NOW. I'M SPENDING ALL THE TIME I CAN WITH TIM. BUT I DO SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
I WILL TRY TO POST WHAT FEW THINGS I'VE MADE SOON.

ANOTHER HOSPITAL STAY

WE WENT TO HUNTSVILLE MONDAY TO SEE THE SURGEON AND HE PUT TIM IN THE HOSPITAL. WE GOT HOME ABOUT TWO AND A HALF HOURS AGO. THE CATH SITE WAS BLEEDING ON THE INSIDE. I HOPE IT IS FIXED THIS TIME.
ALL THE DR.'S ARE GETTING TOGETHER AND FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO ABOUT TIM'S HEART PROBLEMS. WE GO BACK THE 21ST TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY COME UP WITH. HIS DR. TOLD HIM HE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE HELP THIS TIME AROUND. HE NEEDS A NEW VULVAE, ANEURYSM FIXED AND A REDO ON ONE BY-PASS. TO MUCH FOR ONE DR.
I DID MAKE A FEW LITTLE BLANKETS WHILE THERE. I'LL POST A PICTURE LATER. I'VE BEEN UP SINCE 1:00 THIS MORNING AND I'M GOING TO CHECK OUT A FEW BLOGS AND GO TO BE. THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS.

UPDATE ON TIM

WE GOT HOME ABOUT AN HOUR AGO. TIM HAD TO STAY OVER NIGHT AFTER THE HEART CATH. HE STARTED BLEEDING INTERNALLY AT THE CATH SITE. SO WE GOT A ROOM AND HAD A LITTLE VACATION.WE FORGOT TO PUT THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN OUT AND WE HAD COMPANY EVERY HOUR AND A HALF. BUT WE DID SLEEP HARD FOR THAT SHORT TIME. IT TOOK ME TWO HOURS TO DRIVE HOME TONIGHT BECAUSE I WAS SO TIRED.
WE GO SEE THE SURGEON MONDAY, UNTIL THEN WE STILL DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ELSE. I WAS TOLD THINGS I ALREADY KNEW BY THE HEART CATH DR.
WE HAD OUR FIRST SNOW WHILE WE WERE THERE. GLAD IT WAS GONE BY THE TIME WE WENT HOME.
JIM WAS GONE BY THE TIME WE GOT A ROOM AT 9:00 FRIDAY NIGHT. ( WE GOT THERE AT 9:00 THAT MORNING.) DIDN'T WANT TO CALL THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH AS IT IS WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT US. BUT HE HAS TO BE DOING ALRIGHT TO GO HOME.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO WITHOUT THEM.
ALLYSON, THAT SURE WAS A HUGE CLOUD OF SMOKE GOING UP. THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS.

UPDATE ON TIM

TIM HAS TO HAVE THE HEART CATH DONE AGAIN AT HUNTSVILLE HOSPITAL. THE ONE THAT WAS DONE HERE WASN'T ANY GOOD. HE BOUGHT NEW PAJAMA'S IN CASE THEY KEEP HIM AND DO OPEN HEART. HE WANTS ME TO PACK A BAG FOR MYSELF. HE TOLD ME HE WAS GOING FOR THE SHORT STAY NOT THE LONG ONE LIKE LAST TIME.
I'VE HEARD HIM TALKING TO COCOA A LOT WHEN I'M NOT IN THE ROOM. IT BREAKS MY HEART. SEVERAL TIMES A DAY HE TELLS ME HOW GOOD I AM TO BOTH OF THEM AND THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT WITHOUT ME. I JUST WANT THIS TEST DONE SO WE'LL KNOW WHERE WE STAND.
JIM IS IN A ROOM AGAIN AND DOING A LOT BETTER. AUNT JANELLE IS STILL HANGING IN THERE.
I'VE NOT BEEN CROCHETING BUT I AM PLAYING AROUND WITH PAPER. I HAVE A CUTE IDEA FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT AND I'M TRYING TO GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD AND COME TO LIFE WITHOUT LOSING ALL THAT CUTENESS.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY AND HUG SOMEONE YOU LOVE.

AUNT JANELLE'S CARD

I FOUND THIS CARD LAYING AROUND THIS WEEK AND SINCE I WANTED TO MAKE AUNT JANELLE A CARD I THOUGHT I'D START WITH IT. I'M NOT THAT GREAT AT DOING THIS BUT I'LL SHOW IT TO YOU ANYWAY. I FOLDED A FEW SHEETS OF PAPER IN HALF AND CUT IT THE SIZE OF THE CARD,INKED AROUND THE CORNERS AND THEN USED A PIECE OF RIBBON TO KEEP IT ALL TOGETHER.

I ALSO USED THE COMMENTS YOU LEFT TO PUT INSIDE. SEE THE PRETTY CARD WITH ROSES ON IT? I GOT THAT OFF OF TWO CRAZY CRAFTERS BLOG. IF YOU'VE NOT PAID THEM A VISIT YOU REALLY SHOULD. ( check out their sugar kissed christmas) I DIDN'T HAVE ANY GLITTER TO FANCY IT UP THE WAY LINDSEY DID AND I SEWED MY BUTTONS ON DIFFERENT THAN TWYLA DID , BUT IT'S ALRIGHT.

I USED MY PRINT SHOP FOR A FEW PICTURES TO MAKE HER LAUGH. SHE DOES HAVE 7 BROKE RIBS AND REALLY NEEDS TO BEING THAT.

ANY WAY IT WILL PASS, IT'S NOTHING LIKE WHAT LINDSEY MAKES. BUT I DID LEARN A FEW THINGS FROM HER. THANK YOU FOR THAT LINDSEY. SEE I REALLY NEED A LOT OF HELP.

UPDATE ON FAMILY

THE SURGEON IN HUNTSVILLE TOLD US TO FORGET ABOUT THE WORD ANEURYSM, TO JUST BLOCK IT OUT OF OUR MINDS, THAT WORD SCARES US. TIM HAS A VALVE THAT LEAKS AND THAT IS WHAT HE'S LOOKING AT NOW. TIM HAD THREE MORE TEST YESTERDAY AND THEY WILL LET US KNOW WHEN THEY HAVE ANOTHER HEART CATHE SET UP FOR HIM. THE ONE THAT WAS DONE HERE WASN'T ANY GOOD, SO HE HAS TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN. HE TAKES A BLOOD THINNER SO HE HAS TO TAKE A ROUND OF 10 SHOTS (OVER $600.00) OR GO IN THE HOSPITAL AND GET VITAMIN K THROUGH A IV. AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I'M GUESSING BECAUSE HE'S HAD TWO AND IT HAS BEEN DONE BOTH WAYS. THEN WE GO BACK TO SEE THE DR.

TIM'S BROTHER-IN-LAW JIM IS BACK IN THE CCICU, HIS KIDNEYS SHUT DOWN. HE WAS DOING SO GOOD AND WE WERE THINKING HE WOULD GO HOME SOON. HE'S DEPRESSED AND HE'S GIVEN UP. HIS DAUGHTER FLEW IN YESTERDAY SO PRAYING SHE CAN HELP HIM FIGHT. AT LEAST THEY ARE LETTING HIS WIFE STAY IN HIS ROOM. THEY HAVE 4 EMPTY ROOMS SO THEY DON'T NEED IT.

AUNT JANELLE IS DOING PRETTY GOOD.SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO HUNTSVILLE, JUST SEE HER DR IF SHE NEEDS ANYTHING. SHE'S STILL PRETTY SORE BUT HEALING.
I MADE HER A CARD AND PUT EVERYONE'S COMMENTS IN IT I JUST HAVEN'T GAVE IT TO HER YET.

I'D LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS AND COMMENTS ON OUR FAMILY. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY WE'RE GOING TO GET THROUGH ALL THIS.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY AND A BLESSED THANKSGIVING.

UPDATE ON FAMILY AND CRAFTING

THESE 7 LITTLE SETS WERE MAILED TO EGF. CANDY HAS ALREADY GOT THEM, I'M SO FAR BEHIND ON EVERYTHING.

I MADE THIS YESTERDAY WHILE WAITING FOR MY BROTHER-IN-LAW (JIM) TO GET OUT OF SURGERY, HE HAD A VALVE REPLACEMENT. HE CAME THROUGH IT JUST FINE. HE'S MARRIED TO TIM'S SISTER HELEN ( HER ANEURYSM BLEW NEARLY FIVE YEARS AGO.) PLEASE PRAY FOR BOTH OF THEM.

THIS IS A LITTLE WHITE SET FOR OHIO.

THREE WHITE BLANKETS AND ONE BLUE ONE.

AUNT JANELLE IS STILL DOING BETTER AND SENDS HER THANKS TO EVERYONE.
TIM'S COUSIN ELAINE AND HER HUSBAND TERRY ALSO NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR HEALTH PROBLEMS. THEIR DAUGHTER IS HAVING TWINS (SHES 41) THE BABIES WEIGH 140Z EACH AS OF WED.PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM AS WELL.
IT SEEMS LIKE THERE'S A BLACK CLOUD HANGING AROUND OUR FAMILY. I'M FIGHTING TO KEEP IT FROM WEARING ME DOWN. I WILL FIND SOMETHING TO LAUGH ABOUT AFTER I GET THROUGH ALL THESE TEARS THIS MORNING.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY.

UPDATE ON AUNT JANELLE

I JUST GOT HOME FROM HUNTSVILLE WITH AUNT JANELLE. SHE MADE THE LONG RIDE RATHER WELL I THOUGHT. SHE'S DOING FINE JUST SORE, SHE HAS TO HOLD A PILLOW TO HER CHEST TO HELP WITH PAIN.
SHE SAID THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT.
I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU AS WELL. I KNOW WHEN I NEED HELP ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TURN TO ALL OF YOU. THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR TIM. WE STILL DON'T KNOW ANYTHING YET. OUR FAMILY DOCTOR SAID IT NEEDS FIXED NOW BUT THE CARDIOLOGIST SAYS NO. I TOLD THEM I WANT TO SEE THE SURGEON. NOW WE WAIT AGAIN.

AUNT JANELLE NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS

AUNT JANELLE HAD A BAD WRECK TODAY. SHE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AND KNOCKED INTO A TRANSFER TRUCK. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS OUT AND BY THE TIME I GOT HOME SHE WAS IN ICU IN HUNTSVILLE. I'M GOING TO SEE HER IN THE MORNING FOR THE 10:30 VISIT. FROM WHAT I KNOW SHE HAS 4 BROKE RIBS ON ONE SIDE AND 3 ON THE OTHER SIDE, A LUNG COLLAPSED AND FLUID IN HER STOMACH. SHE JUST TURNED 70 LAST MONTH.
SHE STAYS BUSY DOING SOMETHING ALL THE TIME. SHE MAKES TINY BRACELETS FOR EGF, CANCER HATS AND LAP QUILTS FOR THE NURSING HOME. SHE HAS A PUZZLE ON A TABLE THAT SHE WORKS ON AND SHE HAS PUZZLE BOOKS AND WORD SEARCH BOOKS, SHE BOWLS TWO DAYS A WEEK AND KEEPS UP WITH ALL OF US AS WELL AS HER OWN LITTLE FAMILY.
SHE HAD KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY EARLIER THIS YEAR BUT IT DIDN'T KEEP HER DOWN LONG. I HOPE HER KNEE IS ALRIGHT. I JUST PRAY SHE WILL RECOVER FAST.

MORE CRAFTING

I GOT THIS DOLL AT A YARD SALE FOR A 1.00. IT'S HEAD IS 4 1/2 X 10 INCHES WHICH IS THE SIZE OF A SMALL PREEMIE 1-3 POUNDS. NOW I KNOW IF THE HAT OR BONNET FITS.

I DIDN'T HAVE MATERIAL BIG ENOUGH TO MAKE A BLUE BONNET SO I MADE IT WHITE.

I DIDN'T PRESS THIS QUILT BEFORE I TOOK THE PICTURE. I'M NOT THAT GREAT AT MAKING QUILTS BUT I HAD LEFT OVER SCRAPS SO I MADE THESE.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET TO TIRED TO SEW, YOU KNOW ITS TIME TO STOP WHEN YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE IN A ROW.

THIS IS WHY I WAS SO TIRED. I STILL NEED TO FINISH THE YELLOW ONES AND PUT RIBBON AND ELASTIC ON THE BONNETS.
I HAVE A FEW WHITE BLANKETS I NEED TO TAKE PICTURES OF. I'LL POST THEM LATER.
AS FOR TIM THE TEST WENT FINE NOW WE WAIT TO SEE THE SURGEON.

TIM NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS

HEY EVERYONE! MY COMPUTER WENT NUTS LAST WEEK AND IS IN THE SHOP SO I'M AT MY SISTER-IN-LAWS TODAY CHECKING IN REAL QUICK.
TIM WENT TO THE DR. YESTERDAY AND IT'S BACK TO HUNTSVILLE AGAIN IN THE MORNING FOR ANOTHER TEST, (TEE), HE'LL HAVE A CAMERA PUT DOWN HIS THROAT SO THEY CAN SEE HOW MUCH THE VALVE IN HIS HEART IS LEAKING. THE ANEURYSM IS NOT 4.5 IT'S 5.3. 5.5 MEANING SURGERY. I TOLD THE DR. I WANTED HIM TO GET SOMETHING DONE THAT WE DON'T WANT TO WAIT. SO AFTER THIS TEST WE GET TO SEE THE SURGEON. PLEASE PRAY FOR US. TIM IS REALLY WORRIED, BUT DON'T TELL HIM I TOLD YOU THAT. I'M HAVING FAITH AS ALWAYS.
BEEN BUSY WITH SEWING AND CROCHETING WILL POST PICTURES WHEN I GET MY COMPUTER BACK. I MISS EVERYONE SO MUCH.
TIM WANTS TO RIDE AROUND AND LOOK AT LEAVES TODAY SO OFF WE GO.

MORE GOWNS

8 GOWNS

13 BONNETS I STILL NEED ONE MORE BONNET.

1 BLANKET
THESE THINGS WILL GO TO EGF WHEN I GET ALL THE BLANKETS MADE.
I USED BERNAT BABY BOUCLE' FOR THIS BLANKET. I HATE CROCHETING WITH IT BUT IF YOU MAKE A GRANNY SQUARE IT'S NOT THAT BAD AND IT'S SO SOFT. I DIDN'T PUT A EDGE ON THIS BLANKET BECAUSE IT'S HARD FOR ME TO WORK WITH IT.

Sunday, October 18, 2009

EGF DONATION

THESE SIX LITTLE GOWNS WILL GO TO OHIO WHEN I GET THE BONNETS AND BLANKETS MADE.I CUT OUT 14 GOWNS AND THIS IS WHAT I GOT MADE.
CANDY GOT A REQUEST FOR ALL WHITE SETS SO I'M HELPING WITH THESE.

THIS CROCHET SET WILL ALSO GO TO OHIO. I STILL NEED TO MAKE THE BONNET FOR IT AS WELL. THESE THINGS WILL BE GOING TO AMISH FAMILIES, SO WE WERE ASKED TO MAKE THEM ALL WHITE. I HOPE THE CROCHET SET WILL WORK, I KNOW THEY USE PLAIN THINGS SO I DIDN'T PUT THE LITTLE RIBBONS ON THE GOWN.

THIS IS ANOTHER SCRAPPY BLANKET. THAT JUST ABOUT USES UP ALL MY LEFT OVER BABY YARN.

WEAVE A PIECE OF RIBBON AROUND 1ST ROW OF RUFFLE ON EACH SLEEVE TIE INTO A BOW. THIS MAKES THE SLEEVE FIT BETTER.

I LIKE TO TIE TWO PIECES OF RIBBON (AND MAKE A BOW) ON EACH SIDE OF THE BOTTOM ROW OF DC. I ALSO LIKE TO PUT A BOW ON TOP OF RUFFLE.

EGF NEED

9 BEREAVEMENT SETS
13 BLANKETS
THESE THINGS WERE PUT IN THE MAIL FOR EGF TODAY.
CANDY NEEDED THESE THINGS AND MORE. I'M WORKING ON WHITE THINGS NOW BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING.
BELOW IS WHAT CANDY NEEDS IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO DONATE.
EMMAZING GRACE FOUNDATION
4815 TABBY STONE DRIVE
CUMMING, GA.
30028
THANKS KATHY

Recently, EGF has received two requests which has prompted me a "needs list." If you could stick the following items in your line-up for crafting, I would greatly appreciated it!
Solid white bereavement sets
Blankets - any size, any color
Extra small & small bereavement sets
We have several hospitals that only want the tiny sets as they have plenty of donations for the larger angels. Last week I received a request for just that from the hospital where Emma passed away. Annually I send something but I have never sent a lot since Emma was so beautifully dressed. They've now requested that they be on our regular list.
I've also received a request from a hospital in Ohio that services a predominately Amish population. Thus, solid white is requested. I have sent all of the solid white sets that I have. The bereavement coordinator sent me a link to some photos too. They are beautifully done!
As always, thanks a MILLION for all that you do for the families!! CANDY

SOCKS FOR HANNAH

I SEND MOST OF MY PREEMIE THINGS TO EMMAZING GRACE FOUNDATION, THE FOUNDER CANDY , HAS A BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER NAMED HANNAH.THESE SOCKS ARE FOR HER.

I MADE THE PINK PAIR FIRST AND MAILED THEM TO HANNAH, SHE LOVED THEM. NEXT I MADE THE BLUE PAIR USING BEADS, THIS WAS MY FIRST ATTEMPT USING BEADS AND I'M NOT REAL HAPPY WITH THEM. I'M STARTING A PINK PAIR WITH BEADS AND I FEEL A LOT BETTER ABOUT THE QUALITY OF MY WORK.

I'LL PUT THESE IN THE MAIL THIS WEEK. HOPE YOU LIKE THESE AS WELL HANNAH.
AS SOON AS I CAN WRITE THIS PATTERN OUT I'LL POST THE PATTERN BEFORE I FORGET IT. WELL AS OF NOW I HAVE TWO PATTERNS WITH MORE FLOATING AROUND IN MY HEAD. I REALLY NEED TO WRITE THIS DOWN BEFORE THEY GET LOST IN THERE.
I ALSO NEED TO MAKE HARLIE BUG A FEW PAIR TO WEAR TO SCHOOL.

LAPGHAN

THESE SQUARES WERE BOUGHT AT AN ESTATE SALE ALONG WITH YARN, NEEDLES AND HOOKS.

THE ONLY YARN I HAD TO MATCH WAS A SHADE LIGHTER BUT IT LOOKS PRETTY GOOD TOGETHER. THE EDGING YARN ALSO BELONGED TO SOMEONE THAT HAD PASSED ON. BETWEEN THE THREE OF US WE MADE A LAPGHAN THAT WILL GO TO THE NURSING HOME TO HELP SOMEONE STAY A LITTLE WARMER. I LIKE TO THINK THAT THEY ARE BOTH HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT TURNED OUT.
I NOTICED THAT SHE MADE HER GRANNY SQUARES WITH GROUPS OF TWO DC WHERE I USE GROUPS OF THREE DC.

PREEMIE BLANKET

THIS LITTLE PREEMIE BLANKET WILL BE GOING TO EGF.

Saturday, October 3, 2009

EGF DONATION

THIS IS A PREEMIE BLANKET THAT WILL GO TO EGF.

I DIDN'T HAVE THIS HAT LAYING FLAT WHEN I TOOK THE PICTURE, IT LOOKS PITIFUL. ANYWAY IT ALSO IS FOR A PREEMIE AND WILL GO TO EGF.

NURSING HOME DONATIONS

THIS IS A WHEELCHAIR WRAP THAT WILL GO TO SOMEONE IN THE NURSING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

THIS LOOKS LIKE A RUG BUT IT'S A LAPGHAN, IT ALSO WILL BE GOING TO THE NURSING HOME AS A GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS. IT'S MADE USING LEFT OVER YARN. I DON'T LIKE IT AS WELL AS I DO THE ONE WHERE I USE BLACK BETWEEN THE COLORS. I DIDN'T WANT TO WEAVE IN ALL THOSE ENDS SO I MADE FRINGE ON TWO ENDS. I KNOW, I'M LAZY.

TIM SEES HIS HEART DOCTOR THE END OF THE MONTH. HE GOT BLOODWORK YESTERDAY, MAYBE WE'LL HEAR SOMETHING TODAY.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

WELL THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE CALLED. WE WERE TOLD THAT TIM SHOULD COME BACK IN A YEAR FOR ANOTHER CTA OF HIS HEART TO SEE IF THE ANEURYSM HAS GROWN ANY. I ASKED ABOUT THE BLOCKAGES AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS ADEQUATE BLOOD FLOW. NO SURGERY IN SIGHT,
WE ARE SCARED HALF TO DEATH. I TOLD HER TIM WANTED SURGERY NOW AND SHE SAID THEY WOULDN'T DO IT NOW. WE WANT TO TALK TO THE DR. IN PERSON AND IF WE'RE STILL NOT HAPPY GET A SECOND OPTION.
TIM'S SISTER HAD THE SAME THING IN THE SAME PLACE AND HERS BLEW ON THE WAY HOME. IT WAS BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT SHE IS ALIVE NOW. THE FLAP ON HER VALVE WAS HANGING ON BY A HAIR.
TIM'S STILL HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS TIME HIS TONGUE , LIPS AND LEFT HAND ARE GOING NUMB. ONE TIME IT WAS ALSO THE BOTTOM HALF OF HIS RIGHT HAND AND TWO FINGERS THAT WERE NUMB. TUESDAY HIS EYES WERE MESSED UP. HE SAID IT WAS LIKE HE COULD SEE 3 OR 4 OF EVERYTHING. I'M NOT SURE THIS HAS TO DO WITH HIS HEART OR HIS BRAIN. I THINK HE NEEDS ANOTHER CT OF HIS HEAD, IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE HE'S HAD ONE. HIS BLOOD PRESSURE IS FINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. HIS BLOOD SHOULD BE THIN, THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING WHEN HE HAD BLOOD WORK DONE IN HUNTSVILLE. I GUESS I'LL HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN HERE AND MAKE SURE IT'S NOT TO THICK. IF IT GETS THICK HE HAS BLOOD CLOTS FORM AND GO TO HIS HEART OR BRAIN. THAT'S WHY HE HAD A HEART ATTACK IN 2000 AND MINI STROKES IN 2001. WE TRY TO KEEP HIS BLOOD THIN BUT SOMETIMES IT GETS AWAY FROM US.
AS YOU CAN SEE I CAN'T SLEEP, I'VE BEEN UP ABOUT AN HOUR NOW. TIM CAN'T SLEEP EITHER, ONE OF US IS GETTING UP WHEN THE OTHER ONE IS GOING BACK TO BED. IT'S BEEN A LONG NIGHT.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

UPDATE ON TIM

WELL, ALL THE TEST ARE DONE AND OVER WITH AS FAR AS I KNOW. WE'LL KNOW SOMETHING IN A FEW DAYS, THEY SAID. TIM FEELS ALRIGHT AS LONG AS HE'S ON LEVEL GROUND. HE CAN'T BREATH IF HE WALKS UP A GRADE OF ANY KIND. SO I JUST KEEP HIM ON LEVEL GROUND AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
I HAD TO CALL THE DOCTOR ABOUT SOMETHING FOR MYSELF YESTERDAY. IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AND I'M GETTING TO WHERE I CAN'T TALK. I KNOW TIM AND JOHN JUST LOVE THAT LITTLE FACT BUT I HATE IT. I FEEL ALRIGHT I JUST CAN'T TALK LOUD SO TIM CAN'T HEAR HALF OF WHAT I SAY. NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD AT ALL.

PRAYERS NEEDED AGAIN PLEASE

A YOUNG MAN OF 12 YEARS OLD NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS PLEASE. HE HAS A RARE FORM OF BRAIN CANCER , GLIOBLASTOMA MULTIFORME. HE'S ALREADY GONE THROUGH THE SURGERY AND HE'S NOW TAKING radiation, avastin cheomo therapy, and temadar CHEMO.
HE'S A VERY BRAVE YOUNG MAN AND HE'S BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH AND HAS A WAY TO GO YET. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM, HIS FAMILY AND THE DOCTORS. I KNOW THIS FAMILY IS PULLING TOGETHER AND I KNOW THEY'LL GET THROUGH THIS.
I GOT PERMISSION FROM MATTHEW'S MOTHER BEFORE I POSTED THIS. SHE ADDED A LITTLE TO IT BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ALL THE TREATMENT WAS. LOVE AND PRAYERS TO YOU ALL.

EGF DONATIONS

5 PREEMIE BLANKETS
4 PREEMIE HATS
AS ALWAYS I'LL SEND THESE THINGS TO EGF . I HAVE A FEW GOWNS MADE BUT I THINK I'LL HAVE TO MAKE MORE TO GO WITH THE BLANKETS. MY FAVORITE IS ALWAYS THE ONE MADE WITH LEFT OVER YARN. I NEVER KNOW HOW IT WILL LOOK.
I LIKE TO MAKE A LOT OF ONE THING THEN GO TO THE OTHER. THAT WAY I DON'T BURN OUT.

WORRY BLANKET

THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT MAKING A WORRY BLANKET FOR THE NURSING HOME. I'VE HAD THIS MATERIAL FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO WITH IT. IT'S T-SHIRT MATERIAL AND I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT. I USED SOME OF THE LACE AND THREAD THAT MISS JUANITA GAVE ME THIS WEEK, SOME BOWS THAT WON'T GO WITH MY PREEMIE THINGS, SOME OLD BUTTONS I'VE BEEN SAVING FOR YEARS AND LEFT OVER PIECES OF BINDING. I LIKE THE WAY EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER TO MAKE THE MATERIAL LOOK GOOD. I LEARNED WHAT NOT TO DO, WHAT TO DO AND WHEN TO DO IT. MAYBE I WON'T FORGET IT.
CAN YOU BELIEVE I'VE POSTED THREE TIMES TODAY. OH WELL I HOPE TO GET MORE OF THESE MADE TO HAND OUT AT THE NURSING HOME THIS CHRISTMAS.

UPDATE ON TIM

WE GO BACK TO HUNTSVILLE TUESDAY TO GET THE CTA OF HIS CHEST DONE. THEN IT'S WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THEY DID LET US KNOW HE HAD GOOD BLOOD FLOW IN THE DISEASED ARTERY. HE FEELS PRETTY GOOD JUST WEAK.

WE SAID GOODBYE TO VICKIE YESTERDAY. WE HAVE A GREAT NIECE THAT WAS CLOSE TO VICKIE. IT WAS SO SWEET WATCHING HER GATHER A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS TO TAKE HOME WITH HER. I COULD HEAR VICKIE SAYING GO AHEAD AND GET THEM ALL IF YOU WANT THEM MADISON. JUST GET THEM ALL HONEY. MADISON'S MOTHER AND AUNT WERE ALSO WATCHING HER THINKING THE SAME THING. SHE MADE THE DAY END WITH A SWEET MEMORY. SHE HAS LONG BROWN CURLS AND THEY WERE BOUNCING AS SHE WENT FROM WREATH TO WREATH PICKING OUT JUST THE RIGHT FLOWER. THEY WERE ALL SHADES OF PINK AND WHITE.

DONATIONS

WHILE IN THE WAITING ROOM AT THE HEART CENTER I STARTED TALKING TO A LADY THAT WAS THERE WITH HER HUSBAND. MISS JUANITA TOLD ME ABOUT HER MOTHER'S SISTER MISS MAVIS WHO HAD PASSED AWAY A FEW YEARS AGO WITH CANCER OF THE OVARIES. SHE SAID MISS MAVIS WAS A GREAT CRAFTER AND CHRISTIAN. HER DAUGHTER'S DIDN'T SEW SO THEY GAVE MISS JUANITA HER CRAFTS. THIS IS WHAT SHE DIDN'T USE AND SHE GAVE THEM TO ME.
THE FIRST PICTURE IS OF A BOX FULL OF LACE. WHAT I DON'T USE FOR THE PREEMIES WILL BE USED FOR THE NURSING HOMES. AUNT JANELLE IS MAKING A LOT OF LAPGHANS AND DONATING THEM.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF YARN, HOOKS AND OTHER THINGS. AS YOU CAN SEE I'VE ALREADY STARTED CROCHETING A PINK BABY BLANKET.
MISS JUANITA SAID SHE WAS A NURSE FOR 25 YEARS I THINK. I MAY NOT HAVE THAT RIGHT BECAUSE I FORGOT TO RIGHT THAT PART DOWN, BUT I KNOW SHE WAS A NURSE. SHE SAID THAT SHE MADE APRONS FOR THE NURSING HOME WITH BUTTONS, ZIPPERS AND OTHER THINGS ON THEM. SHE CALLED THEM WORRY APRONS OR BUSY APRONS. (I REALLY NEED TO WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING BECAUSE THE BRAIN IS GONE.) I'M GOING WITH BUSY APRONS. ANYWAY AUNT JANELLE AND I ARE GOING TO MAKE SOME BUSY LAPGHANS. I'VE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS AND SUCH WORRYING WITH A CORNER OF A SHIRT OR SOMETHING. I THINK THEY WOULD REALLY LIKE SOMETHING LIKE MAYBE A SMALLER VERSION OF A LAPGHAN TO TINKER WITH.AUNT JANELLE AND I TALKED AND WE'RE GOING TO TRY MAKING SOME.
THANK YOU SO MUCH MISS JUANITA FOR SHARING YOUR AUNT'S CRAFTS. WE'LL MAKE SURE THAT THEY TOUCH A LOT OF LIVES.

UPDATE ON FAMILY

TIM DID JUST FINE WITH HIS TEST. WE HAVE TO BE THERE AT 7:00 IN THE MORNING FOR THE OTHER PART OF THE TEST.
I'LL POST TOMMOROW ABOUT A REALLY NICE LADY I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING TODAY.
AS FOR TIM'S SISTER THEY CALLED ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH TIM'S TEST TO LET US KNOW THAT THEY WERE TAKING HER OFF LIFE SUPPORT. THEN WE GOT A CALL THAT SHE WAS GONE. SHE'S BEEN SICK FOR SO LONG, HER SUFFERING IS OVER AND OURS BEGINS.

Monday, September 14, 2009

DOCTOR VISIT

WE TOOK ALL OF TIM'S NEW RECORDS WITH US TODAY SO OUR DR. WOULD BE UP TO SPEED ON EVERYTHING. HE WANTS TO RUN A FEW MORE TEST AND CONSULT WITH OTHER DR.'S ABOUT THE BEST THING TO DO. TIM'S ANEURYSM IS 4.5 AND 5.5 IS WHERE YOU HAVE TO GET SOMETHING DONE FOR SURE. WE WANT IT FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE BLOCKAGES WILL BE FIXED THEN ALSO. WE MAY HAVE TO GO TO NASHVILLE TO GET IT DONE THIS TIME. THE DR. SAID THE SECOND TIME AROUND WAS MORE DANGEROUS AND THE DOCTORS THERE WERE A LITTLE BETTER THAN AT HUNTSVILLE FOR THIS SORT OF THING.
WE GO BACK TO HUNTSVILLE TOMORROW FOR MORE TEST.
WE ALSO NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR TIM'S YOUNGEST SISTER VICKI. WHILE WE WERE GETTING RECORDS TO TAKE WITH US SHE WAS BROUGHT TO THE ER . WE DIDN'T KNOW THIS UNTIL TONIGHT. SHE HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS COPD AND HEART TROUBLE ARE JUST TWO OF THEM. THEY FLEW HER TO CHATTANOOGA BY HELICOPTER. SHE'S IN CCU ON LIFE SUPPORT NOW. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW LONG SHE WENT WITHOUT OXYGEN SO THEY DON'T KNOW IF HER BRAIN WAS DAMAGED OR NOT. HER HEART DID STOP AT THE HOSPITAL OR IN THE AMBULANCE OR BOTH AND SHE TOOK HER OXYGEN OFF DURING THE NIGHT AT HOME. THEY ARE GOING TO LOWER HER BODY TEMPERATURE FOR AT LEAST 12 HOURS AND THEN BRING IT BACK UP. THIS SHOULD HELP THE BRAIN WHEN THERE'S OXYGEN LOSS. THEN THEY WILL DECIDE HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE BRAIN. THE ONLY SIGN OF FEELING SHE HAS IS THE TUBE DOWN HER THROAT.
HER KIDNEY'S AND LIVER WANT TO SHUT DOWN BUT ARE HANGING ON SO FAR. IF THEY SHUT DOWN THEN IT'S OVER EVEN IF THE BRAIN IS ALRIGHT.
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR TIM. HE HAS TO BE ALRIGHT, HE'S THE AIR I BREATH, THE LIGHT IN MY SUN MY BEST FRIEND, WELL YOU GET THE IDEA.

WE MADE IT HOME

TIM'S HOME AND HE FEELS PRETTY GOOD, JUST TIRED. I WISH I HAD GOOD NEWS TO REPORT TONIGHT ABOUT HIS TEST. HE HAS A 100% AND A 90% BLOCKAGE AND THEY CAN'T USE STINTS BECAUSE THEY HAD A REALLY HARD TIME JUST DOING THE TEST. HE ALSO HAS AN ANEURYSM IN THE AORTA. NOT GOOD AT ALL. WE GO TO HUNTSVILLE MONDAY TO HIS DOCTOR. UNTIL THEN HE'S TO TAKE IT EASY SO HE DOESN'T STIR UP MORE TROUBLE. THESE BLOCKAGES ARE IN THE BY PASSES HE HAD. THE THIRD ONE IS JUST FINE. I'M MORE WORRIED ABOUT THE ANEURYSM THAN I AM ANYTHING. I'LL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES MONDAY.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS, WE NEED THEM A LOT.
I DID SOME CROCHETING WHILE WAITING AROUND IN THE WAITING ROOM. I'LL POST PICTURES LATER. I TALKED A LOT ABOUT EGF AS ALWAYS. I TALKED ABOUT THE WEDDING DRESS THAT WAS DONATED TO MAKE BURIAL OUTFITS WITH AND A LADY TOLD ME SHE HAD A WEDDING DRESS SHE WOULD LIKE TO DONATE.
I REALLY LIKED HER AND HER TWIN SISTER A LOT. PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS FAMILY BECAUSE THEY LOST THEIR MOTHER YESTERDAY. I JUST MET THEM BUT MY HEART BROKE FOR THEM, I PRAY THE LORD WILL GIVE THEM STRENGTH TO GET THROUGH THIS. I HOPE THEY CAN BRING ALL THE GOOD MEMORIES OF THEIR MOTHER TO MIND, HEAR HER LAUGHTER AND SEE HER SMILE.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE NEEDED

I HAD TO TAKE TIM TO THE ER YESTERDAY, THEY PUT HIM IN ICU TO KEEP AN EYE ON HIM. HE WAS HAVING TIGHTNESS IN HIS CHEST AND HIS ARMS WERE NUMB, IT WAS LIKE HE'S HAD BEFORE ONLY THIS TIME IT HURT MORE. HE RATED IT A 6. THEY GAVE HIM VITAMIN K TODAY TO THICKEN HIS BLOOD SO THEY CAN DO THE ARTERIAL GRAM IN THE MORNING AT 8:00. HE'S DOING FINE NOW OR I'D BE IN THE WAITING ROOM RIGHT NOW. PLEASE PRAY THAT IF THEY FIND SOMETHING WRONG IT'S NOT BAD AND THEY CAN FIX IT WITHOUT OPEN HEART SURGERY. I NEED TO GET TO BED SO I CAN GET UP IN THE MORNING , I HOPE YOU HEAR FROM ME IN THE MORNING WHEN I BRING TIM HOME.

LITTLE BOY OUTFIT

THIS IS THE PATTERN I'LL USE FOR THE BOYS MORE THAN LIKELY. I MADE IT A LITTLE LONGER, MADE THE SLEEVES LONGER AND I ALSO RESHAPED THE SLEEVES SO THEY WOULDN'T FLAIR OUT. I ALSO PUT A DRAWSTRING AT THE BOTTOM SO IT WOULDN'T LOOK LIKE A DRESS. THIS WILL FIT A 1 POUND BABY.
COCOA JUST HAD TO PLAY BALL WHEN I GOT EVERYTHING ALL NICE AND PRETTY FOR THE PICTURE. SHE JUST LOVES THAT BALL, IT'S SOFT AND JUST THE RIGHT SIZE FOR HER. I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO NOT TO WASH THINGS BEFORE I TAKE A PICTURE OF IT BECAUSE SHE JUST LOVES TO GET ON IT AND SEE WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO.

LAST THURSDAY WAS TIM'S LAST DAY AT WORK. AFTER I FINISHED GROOMING YESTERDAY I WENT WITH HIM TO TOWN TO FILL OUT NEW PAPERS FOR COBRA INSURANCE AND GET HIS UNEMPLOYMENT STARTED. HE DID THE PAPER WORK AT WORK BUT MY SS# AND BIRTHDAY WERE WRONG NOT TO MENTION MY NAME. WHO DID HE THINK HE WAS MARRIED TO? I MEAN IT WAS HIS HAND WRITING. HE JUST PUT DOWN WHAT THEY SAID. I CAN UNDERSTAND NOT KNOWING MY SOCIAL AND I KNOW WHY THE NAME CONFUSED HIM, MY NAME IS REALLY MARY KATHERINE HE HAD KATHY M. , IT'S THE BIRTHDAY I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH. OH WELL, I KNOW HE HAS HAD A LOT OF MINI STROKES AND THEY HAVE AFFECTED HIS MEMORY SO I'LL JUST LAUGH AND GO ON AND ADD A FEW MORE THINGS TO THAT HONEY DO LIST OF HIS.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, KATHY M.

EGF DONATION DRIVE

CANDY IS HOLDING THE ANNUAL EGF DONATION DRIVE. I JUST COPIED THIS OFF HER SITE SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO RE-TYPE IT. IF ANYONE CAN HELP OUT THIS YEAR IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

4th Annual Remembering Emma Grace Donation Drive
Obviously, life took a big turn several weeks ago with Hannah's diagnosis of Friedreich's Ataxia. Thus, I'm late kicking off the annual donation drive. I've received several inquiries about whether I would continue EGF. The answer is YES.....as long as I can. I briefly considered whether I could handle everything (and it may change as Hannah's disease progresses) but then I received 3 phone calls/emails for assistance in a couple days. So, I took it as a sign to keep on keeping on as long as possible.4th Annual Remembering Emma Grace Donation Drive Date: June 1 - August 15Goal: 1187 items & $535 in cash donations Items needed:Handmade -Bereavement gowns in all sizes.
